How To Apply a Vinyl Decal
Here are a few tips on how to apply a vinyl decal that is contour cut into multiple smaller pieces and comes with transfer tape applied. (i.e. vehicle or shop lettering graphics)
Clean the surface you have chosen to apply the decal to of dust, dirt and debris.
CAREFULLY remove the decal backing paper, the decal should stick to the transfer tape, if it does not then carefully try peeling from another angle or reapply pressure to assist the decal in adhering to the transfer tape.
Place decal on surface and working from the middle to the outer edges apply light pressure working out any wrinkles or bubbles.
Next use a credit card like object to apply firm pressure again working from the middle to outer edges to make sure the decal is fully adhered.
Now slowly peel the transfer tape away at a 180 degree angle. If decal begins to come up then reapply transfer tape and again apply pressure with a credit card.
If your design is especially delicate you can let it sit for 24 hours before removing the transfer tape. This gives your decal time to adhere more strongly to the surface.
For larger decals more technique is needed using painters tape to line up the decal and peel away the backing paper as you work along applying the decal. Alternatively you may choose to use the wet application method for some surfaces. Please do some research before attempting. Youtube is a fine resource for this.
